Programs
Environmental programs and initiatives created by AIMF are designed to strengthen like-minded organizations by helping them share resources and work cooperatively.
Our efforts include:
- Convening national and international forums to address issues that affect mountain communities
- Hosting annual events that celebrate mountain communities and raise awareness for issues affecting mountain environments
- Initiating, managing and providing technical assistance for projects in select mountain communities that address sustainable development issues
- Creation of a ski marketing and tourism forum under the umbrella of the Aspen Sister Cities with the help of our sister cities (expanding the forum to travel to Aspen or Davos, Switzerland; encouraging participation of Aspen's sister cities)
- Enabling the ongoing exchange of ski and tourism information between the sister cities resorts of Chamonix, France, Aspen, Colorado, Davos, Switzerland and Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany as well as with our sister cities
- Formulation of cross-marketing projects with strategic partners
- Creation of an internet portal web site to spread the word about mountain environmental issues
